The Role:
Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a New Product Introduction Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
We are currently seeking a New Product Introduction Engineering Co-op to join our E-Chuck NPI team. The NPI group acts as the link between the R&D Engineering team and the Manufacturing Engineering team. The NPI Engineering Co-op will work closely with the E-Chuck Engineering team to ensure Manufacturing readiness of the new product portfolio. More specifically we seek to enhance our inspection and characterization capabilities in the E-Chuck manufacturing area by implementing/qualifying a new Digital Optical Comparator tool.
In this role, you will:
•Work with NPI engineers on assigned NPI (New Product Introduction) Projects as the liaison between Product Engineering and Operations, pulling products to market
•This Co-Op will lead the tool acceptance testing, process implementation and qualification of the new Optical Comparator inspection tool
•Work closely with Product Engineering to proactively influence product and process design for better manufacturability
•Participate in the Development of Manufacturing Plans for assigned projects. Topics include selection of manufacturing site, raw and finished goods material planning, chemical/waste plan, ramp/capacity planning, cost roadmap, etc
•Participate and contribute to Improvement Projects (yield, process capability, etc.) to maximize Gross Margin and Predictability.
•Potentially lead a sub-project which aides a larger project
•Prepare Process Documentation to support Product Launch
•Manage customer samples and V&Q builds.
•Work with Operations team to provide special instructions as required
•Assist in directing and controlling processes in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
•Assist with analyses and audits on processes in order to make recommendations on such items as safety, quality, cost, waste reductions, and efficiency.

•A self-motivated, technical background with optical characterization experience
•Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills.
•Ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities at once to
•Experience or interest in optical characterization methods/techniques
